I am a theoretical linguist, also interested in data analysis and statistics. My research focusses on the interfaces between syntax and other linguistic domains (semantics, pragmatics, discourse, phonology). I worked on language variation, both in a diachronic and in a synchronic perspective (with a focus on heritage languages and bilingual speakers).

I obtained my MA in Slavic Linguistics (Serbian, Slovenian and Russian) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy) in 2016. During my studies I focused on diachronic change in the Slavic perfect. In 2022 I defended my PhD thesis “The Syntax of Subject Pronouns in Heritage Languages” at Utrecht University (The Netherlands); the thesis focussed on the interaction of syntactic and semantic factors in the realisation of subject pronouns in various heritage languages.

I am passionate about languages in general and I analyse every linguistic phenomenon in a cross-linguistic perspective. I can speak five Romance languages (including three ‘bigger’ languages -Italian, Portuguese, Spanish- and two minority languages -Venetan and Friulian-), three Slavic languages (Russian, Serbian, Slovenian) and two Germanic languages (Dutch and German).
