mgr Katarzyna Jankowiak PhD
I graduated from Slavic studies with a specialization in translation in intercultural communication. I did part of my studies in the Czech Republic at the universities of Olomouc (Univerzita Palackého) and Ostrava (Ostravská univerzita).
I wrote my master’s thesis entitled Phonetic Characteristics of Polish and Czech Musicals and Popular Music under the supervision of Dariusz Tkaczewski, Ph.D., Professor of the University of Silesia.
My research interests include phonetics and phonology of Slavic languages, with particular emphasis on Polish and Czech. My dissertation, which I am preparing, also deals with the sound organization of Polish and Czech.
I completed Postgraduate Studies in Teaching Polish Culture and Polish Language as a Foreign Language at the School of Polish Language and Culture at the University of Silesia.
As a result, I also work as a Polish language teacher, teaching foreigners in several language schools.
In addition to developing my academic and teaching activities, I am active as a vocalist and vocal instructor.
